The Blue Force Gear Standard Issue Vickers Sling is the military-issue version of the Vickers Combat Application Sling (VCAS), a two-point sling designed with Larry Vickers. Blue Force Gear says it's issued with the USMC M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle and authorized for use with the M4, M4A1, and M16 series weapons. A Quick Adjuster with a contrasting pull tab lets you change the sling's length instantly, going from carrying the weapon to a shooting position and back. When it's tightened, the sling has no excess webbing tail, springs, or moving parts to get tangled or caught on the weapon.
It's made for the M4, M4A1, M27 IAR, and most other weapons with front and rear sling attachment points. Secure it with triglides and loop-lock hardware through swivels or sling loops, or you can combine it with sling hardware. It attaches directly to fixed-loop firearm attachment systems, and additional attachment hardware is sold separately. For an M27 or another weapon with a railed fore end, Blue Force Gear recommends using the Rail Mounted Fixed Loop (RMFL). The sling is built in the USA from Invista solution-dyed CORDURA webbing, and Blue Force Gear says it's Berry compliant and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
The adjuster and triglides are glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon, which Blue Force Gear says lets the sling lie flatter for comfort while carrying a firearm. The sling is 1.25" webbing, 54" to 64" long, and weighs 173 grams. Blue Force Gear also makes a Quick Release Kit, an 8" length of webbing that adds an emergency release buckle to a Vickers sling and installs on sling slots on standard M4 and CAR15 buttstocks, standard sling loops, or RMFLs.
