The ALG Defense Quality Mil-Spec (QMS) Trigger is a single-stage AR trigger for shooters who want a stock-like pull with most of the grit removed. The pull is smoother than a standard mil-spec trigger from honing the sear surfaces smooth without removing metal below the valleys of the stock surface finish. Sear geometry is unchanged from standard, so stock reliability is retained. Pull weight stays above the U.S. Military M4/M16 minimum of 5.5 lb and generally runs about 6.5 lb, not near the 9.5 lb upper limit.
The trigger and hammer are true 8620 alloy steel military specification castings, correctly carburized, quenched, and tempered. The disconnector is 1070 high-carbon steel, properly austempered. Springs are corrosion-resistant and meet military specifications. A full-force hammer spring is used for positive ignition of all types of ammunition. Trigger and hammer pins are 4140 chrome-moly steel, quenched and tempered, centerless ground, and 0.001" larger in diameter than stock to reduce play while retaining a slip fit in the lower. The QMS is an enhanced standard trigger, so maintenance and installation procedures are unchanged. Spare parts are common with stock triggers, and parts may be interchanged between triggers.
