The ALG Defense Advanced Combat Trigger (ACT) is a single-stage AR trigger for shooters who want a stock-like pull without the grit. Thanks to polished sear surfaces and HardLubing, the pull is smoother and sharper than a standard mil-spec trigger, while the sear geometry remains unchanged from the standard profile to retain stock reliability. Pull weight stays above the U.S. Military M4/M16 minimum of 5.5 lb and generally runs about 6.0 lb, not near the 9.5 lb upper limit.
The trigger is plated with nickel-boron, a matte light grey coating with high surface hardness and wear resistance. The hammer and disconnector are plated with nickel-Teflon, a mottled greyish-green coating with a low coefficient of friction. Both coatings are highly corrosion resistant and remove the need for the oil seal used on traditional phosphated parts. Non-functional surfaces of the nickel-boron trigger, such as the visible trigger bow, may be painted. Parts coated with nickel-Teflon cannot be painted.
The trigger and hammer are true 8620 alloy steel military specification castings, correctly carburized, quenched, and tempered. The disconnector is 1070 high-carbon steel, properly austempered. Springs are corrosion-resistant and meet military specifications. A full-force hammer spring is used for positive ignition of all types of ammunition. Trigger and hammer pins are 4140 chrome-moly steel, quenched and tempered, centerless ground, and 0.001" larger in diameter than stock to reduce play while retaining a slip fit in the lower. The ACT is an enhanced standard trigger, so maintenance and installation procedures are unchanged, and parts may be interchanged between triggers. It meets the essential U.S. Military trigger specifications for the M4 Carbine. Included are a purple reduced-power hammer spring and a full-power hammer spring.
