The LanTac Ultimate Forward Assist is precision lathe turned and manufactured from 4140 Cr-Mo steel for strength and durability. The parts are heat treated to 48-52 Rockwell C and QPQ (Quench Polish Quench) Nitrided for enhanced corrosion resistance. The Plunger spring is manufactured with Stainless 316 music wire (as per ASTM A313) for enhanced corrosion resistance and stress relieved per Mil-Spec and air cooled. The coils have closed ends for improved seating and alignment over standard open ended springs. The Forward Assist Cap has been improved by reducing the diameter and the potential for snagging. The surface knurling around the edge of the cap allows for positive engagement with or without gloves. The weight of the Ultimate Forward Assist is 20.227g (.7135oz) as opposed to 22.481g (.7930oz) for a standard Mil-Spec Forward Assist. Manufactured in the USA from USA sourced materials.
