The Fortis K1 System (Tapered) Castle Nut - LE Lightweight Enhanced AR15 End Plate is an innovative lightweight castle nut and end plate system designed to virtually eliminate the risk of the castle nut backing out. The K1 tapered castle nut creates an ultra-precise snug fit that seals itself onto the end plate without the need for staking, set screws, or ratcheting mechanisms. Both the castle nut and end plate are machined from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, and the end plate features a quick-detach socket with a 360-degree rotational locking interface. Total weight is only 0.59 oz (16.8 grams). No torque wrench is required -simply tighten about 1/4 turn past hand-tight (or 15-20 ft-lbs if using a torque wrench). Available in Black, Gold, Flat Dark Earth, Grey, and OD Green.
