The Magpul AFG 2 (Angled Fore Grip) is shorter in overall length and width compared to the original AFG which allows for mounting on a wider variety of rails and better compatibility with rail and other accessories. Designed to take advantage of natural body mechanics to provide a comfortable and stable platform that reduces fatigue and allows for more precise weapon control. Unlike conventional vertical fore grips the AFG helps mitigate recoil and helps with faster and more precise control of the weapon when transitioning between targets. The AFG mounts to MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and NATO STANAG 4694 rails (min. of 3" recommended). The AFG 2 is a polymer three-piece design with an interchangeable finger shelf that allows for a flat "A1-style" or an "A2-style" finger nub.
