The Knights Armament Company M5 RAS forend was developed for use on the US military's M16A4 rifles. The M5 RAS is a non-free floating, easy to install 2 piece quad rail handguard system with picatinny rails at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions that allow the user to mount accessories. The RAD includes three KAC 11 Rib Rail Panels to cover portions of the rail for an easier grip for the support hand. The M4 RAS is meant to replace the standard 2 piece polymer A2 style handguards.
